The Poverty Law CLE will introduce the fundamentals of poverty law and the common legal issues faced by low-income individuals and families in Alaska. The program will address communication barriers and considerations when working with clients, offer practical questions and approaches for effective advocacy, and provide resources and tools to support attorneys serving this population. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how poverty intersects with the justice system and explore strategies to better assist Alaskans experiencing economic hardship. Attorneys interested in serving low-income clients can sign up with ALSC here
