This program is a three-part video series.  It starts with the playing of a 15-minute video vignette entitled “Losing Control.”  The issues presented include the use of indemnification provisions in fee agreements, law firms as clients of professional employer organizations, the no-contact rule and pushing ethical boundaries. Part two is a 10-minute video vignette entitled “Story Time.” The issues presented in part two include lawyer mobility in general, switching sides, inadvertent misdelivery, and limited scope representation. Finally, part three is a 7.5-minute video vignette entitled “Jump Shifts” The issues presented in this final vignette include the obligations of a successor counsel post termination of the original contingent fee counsel, vishing and smishing, winding up a practice, and the sale of a practice.

  • An awareness of the obligations that arise for successor counsel once a client has fired the original contingent fee counsel.
