Moira Smith is Vice President and General Counsel of ENSTAR Natural Gas Company. Born in Anchorage and raised in Juneau, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. She has been with ENSTAR since 2012 and is responsible for negotiating gas supply contracts, helping to run Cook Inlet Natural Gas Storage Alaska (“CINGSA”), the natural gas storage reservoir that recently began service in Kenai, and running the legal affairs of the company. Prior to joining ENSTAR, Moira was an attorney with Ashburn & Mason. She also serves on the board of Perseverance Theatre, the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, and the Alaska Bar Association’s Lawyers’ Assistance Committee. Moira enjoys spending time with her family, including husband Jake, daughter Maggie, son Owen, and stepsons Bien and Peter.
Moderator - Susan Orlansky came to Alaska in 1980 and worked for the Public Defender Agency from 1981-1992. Since then, she has been in private practice. She handles a wide variety of civil cases and still handles appeals on contract for the Public Defender Agency.
