Jana Turvey


Jana Turvey was born and raised in Kodiak, Alaska. After graduating from Kodiak High School, Jana attended undergraduate school at the University of Notre Dame (go Irish!) where she received her bachelor's degree in Government & International Studies. She later went on to achieve her juris doctorate from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Jana is on-track as a candidate for her Certificate of Professional Development from the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, Aresty Institute of Executive Education.
Jana is Alutiiq and a shareholder of Koniag Regional Corporation and Leisnoi Village Corporation. She is a tribal member of the Sun’aq Tribe of Kodiak and the Native Village of Woody Island. She previously served as a council member for the Native Village of Woody Island Tribal Council and also previously served on the Koniag Board of Directors. Jana currently serves as co-chair for the Alaska Native Law Section of the Alaska Bar Association, Vice-Chair of the Alaska Native Village Corporation Association,and on the Koniag Anchorage Shareholder Committee.
Together with her husband Rick, who is a longliner/crabber fisherman, they have three beautiful children–Brittany–20, Eli–16, and Tia–14.
Jana is employed with Leisnoi, Inc., as the President & CEO in Anchorage.
